I was always really curious and enjoyed learning about science. Growing up around technology I tried to figure out how everyday items which make our lives better worked; like how we get electricity, how a car works, how we make medicines. I chose to be an engineer because using the knowledge we get from science to design practical technologies like these was where I thought I could best help others.

Mathematics and Chemistry were my favourite subjects at school. This drove me to become an engineer, a chemical engineer in particular.

I enjoy solving problems, and as I’m concerned about climate change I studied energy engineering so that I could work on solutions to that. Engineers are responsible for the design of almost everything in our lives from our homes to offices and the roads or trains in-between so they have a huge impact on our lives, being an energy engineer means I’m actively working on building a better future.
