In my research on storing renewable electricity in the form of gas (using electrolyzers). I found how different electrolyzers respond to a different kind of electrical current and found this very interesting.

During my PhD I found out how difficult it is to replace current energy storage systems with new technologies. This is because the price, storage efficiency and size of new systems can’t compete as well with older methods like pumped hydro. A good engineering idea needs to be good in lots of different ways to work.
