Carbon dioxide is recycled and used industrially for all sorts of things. Carbonating drinks is the most common but it can also be used as a solvent for extracting valuable oils from plants. Industrial sources are not taken from the air though because it’s not concentrated enough. We now have technologies for taking carbon dioxide from the air using very porous sandy material that the gas sticks to but it’s difficult to remove a lot of carbon dioxide with this method.

Yup, trees turn it into oxygen, some devices can turn it into fuel https://carbonengineering.com/ and we need it to make our drinks fizzy

Yes, it is a process called Carbon capture and storage. Many industries are taking to it now. The carbon dioxide can then be used in other ways. As Anthony and Connor mentioned, they can be used to make our drinks fizzy, but also they can be recombined with hydrogen to make methane 9natural gas) and be reused as a fuel.
