  Not at all, but tt depends on size, shape and overall complexity. One of my last projects before becoming an engineer was to build a 3m x 3m patio using 600 x 600mm pavers, on a bed of 100mm tkh claus 804 compacted hard core fill. All leveled using some magic string , pegs and spirit level.
