• Question: Are mobile devices bad for the environment or are they good or both

      It takes a lot of energy which produces CO2 and materials which need to be mined to make mobile devices so in that way they’re bad for the environment. We need to recycle them where possible. They can be good if we use them to get information on recycling and making sustainable choices.

      As Anthony mentioned, the manufacture of mobile phones involves a certain amount of pollution and mining for metals.
      However they have improved our way of life, and reduced travel, and increased communication (which was previously through letters). So on an overall scale, they have probably done more good than bad in terms of the environment.
      However, when yo are changing phones, be sure to recycle it or donate it to someone who needs it. That will save a few extra mobile phones from being manufactured.
